The Fondation des Etats-Unis is delighted to welcome you on Wednesday, February 3 for a flute and saxophone recital performed by Alyssa Hoffert and Matthew Angelo. This concert will take place right after the exhibition Of Mice and Them by the artist and FEU resident Micah Wood, which will open at 7pm.
Concert saxophonist, avid chamber musician, and versatile music educator, Alyssa Hoffert has performed extensively throughout the United States and Europe. She holds an MM in Saxophone Performance from the Hartt School and a B.S in Music Education cum laude from Case Western Reserve University/the Cleveland Institute of Music. As a 2015 recipient of the Frank Huntington Beebe Grant, Hoffert is currently studying saxophone at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Boulogne-Billancourt in Paris under the tutelage of Jean-Michel Goury. She is also a Conn-Selmer endorsed artist and performs on Selmer (Paris) saxophones and mouthpieces.
Flutist Matthew Angelo is a solo, orchestral, and chamber musician based in Philadelphia. Mr. Angelo is the second flutist with the Liberty Wind Symphony, performs frequently with the Hartford Independent Chamber Orchestra and regularly collaborates in a duo with flutist Mary Matthews. He made his solo debut with the West Chester University Symphony Orchestra in 2012. Mr. Angelo has six world premiere performances to his name and holds degrees from The Hartt School and West Chester University of Pennsylvania. His teachers include Janet Arms and Dr. Kimberly Reighley.
