JG Thirlwell will be bringing his Cholera Nocebo project to Paris on September 28 at the Fondation des États Unis Cultural Center. The show will be presented by the University of Chicago Center in Paris. Cholera Nocebo is a 50 minute electro-acoustic presentation, performed in surround sound with software and sampling, autoharp, prepared piano and small electronic and acoustic objects and instruments. It is performed with a projection of multiple time-lapse car journeys along the Long Island Expressway, and film of driving in the blackout in Lower Manhattan in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, which gives the illusion of hurtling into a void. The film was shot and edited by gea with additional footage by Sebastian Mlynarski.
