The Fondation des Etats-Unis is delighted to participate in Miniartextil’s Parcours Hors-les-Murs. This exhibition, which has been taking place in Montrouge since 12 years, can been seen at the Beffroi until March 3. Continue your visit at the Cité internationale, where 8 houses are participating in the Hors-les-Murs circuit. Don’t miss the “Wolf in Sheep Clothing” sculpture by Monika Teal at the Fondation.
Monika Teal works from the insight that art is a form of social material. Her art is meant to mediate and inform. She focuses on recurring themes, such as innocence, magic and the loss of magic in our lives. Her work comes from her personal life, reflected by lore, stories and myths. It is grounded in her past and in her heritage. The materials she uses and her subject matters are traditionally female. She loves working with “women’s” materials, fibres, beads, and craft materials, as well as themes that lend themselves to women’s world.
