This year, the Experimental Dickinson conference will be held in three houses of the Cité internationale: the Fondation des Etats-Unis, the Collège Franco-Britannique and the Deutsch de la Meurthe Foundation. It is organized by the international Emily Dickinson Society and several Parisian universities, and brings together researchers from around the world. The FEU hosts multiple performances, workshops and exhibitions around the poems of Emily Dickinson, 19th century American poetess and author of the famous I’m Nobody/ Who are you?
Events open to the public : The premiere of Experimental Dickinson, a creation by students from the Université Paris-Diderot under the direction of Sophie Vasset, on Wednesday, June 22 at 7pm.
A recital entitled The Poet and the Muse: Dickinson in Song given by Linda Mabbs, soprano and Natasha Roqué Alsina, pianist on Saturday June 25 at 6:30 pm. Take advantage of your visit to the recital to admire the installations of the American artist Clark Lunberry writing on water / writing on air, one on the Montsouris Park lake and the other on the windows of the Grand Salon of the Fondation des Etats-Unis. Both installations are inspired by the poem I heard a Fly buzz when I died and can be visited until July 1st. The FEU’s Grand Salon will be open during upcoming concerts (see our website for schedules). The exhibition Incadescence by artist Isabel Michel will be open to the public on Sunday 26 June before and after the piano recital by American pianist Geoffrey Burleson at 5 pm (this concert is not part of the conference programme).
