The international conference The Body of the Translator is taking place on Wednesday, November 22 at The Cube and on Thursday, November 23 at the Fondation des États-Unis. The conference will end with a poetry reading by Double Change.
This conference investigates what it means to perform translation and how far the body of the translator is important. Often the body of the translator is obliterated, accounts of translation often factor the body out. What would reappraising the role of the body of the translator mean? Speakers will address the question from the perspective of Sign language, sociology, poetry, theatre and performance arts. Tracie Morris and Carol Ann Upton are the special guests of this second day of our conference.
