Althea Dance Company will be back at the Fondation des Etats-Unis for a 2-day workshop on the 13th and 14th of July. The company will offer contemporary technique classes taught by members of the company (Thea Bautista, Artistic Director and Logan Pedon, dancer) and a guest teacher. The workshop includes repertory and partnering classes, as well as improvisation sessions.
The Company
Althea Dance Company is a contemporary dance company based between Paris and New York. The work is a blend of contemporary flow and seamless movement, yet very physical, which mixes floorwork with the lines and extensions of the dancers.The company focuses on international collaboration with artists from different fields such as writers, musicians, painters or visuals artists. Althea Dance also likes to perform in surprising and unusual spaces such as warehouses, artist studios, art galleries or outdoor stages. The company explores new ways of sharing dance with the audience and reaching out to people who may not be used to the contemporary dance scene.
So far, Althea Dance Company has performed internationally, mainly in the United States, the UK, France and Mexico and is aiming to keep expending its international voice.
