Meet Zuzanna
Zuzanna Winiarska is an architect and interdisciplinary artist based in Paris. After initial studies in both music and visual arts, which developed a unique sensitivity to art and culture, she continued her studies at the Polytechnic School of Krakow in the Faculty of Architecture, and then at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris-Belleville. Throughout her training, she has participated in projects and workshops in France, Germany, Luxembourg, Poland, Cambodia and Thailand. Her architectural and artistic practice combines reflections on the Anthropocene and the social relations associated with living in metropolises. She uses photography as an iconographic tool to explore and understand the social dimension of the city. For drawing, Zuzanna treated both as a technical tool in her profession as an architect is also a tool of sensitive expression and a form of intimate recording of “memories.” In April 2023, she founded the Club Photo de la Cité Internationale, open to all Cité residents with an interest in photography; the Club encourages students to use photography as a tool for exploring their urban environment. The project brings together over eighty residents from twenty-eight houses. In 2024, it was a winner of the Resident Initiatives Fund 2024 and received financing for the “Balades Photographiques” exhibition during the Fête de la Cité 2024. She is also a double laureate of the Cité internationale Universitaire’s “mérite et engagement” scholarship program, sponsored by BNP Paribas Real Estate.
