Ren Martin-Doïke is an innovative performer dedicated to sharing the joy of music with audiences around the world. She has toured and performed throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia as a soloist and as a member of the Curtis Institute of Music orchestras, the Benny Rietveld Jazz Quintet, and the Violin Virtuosi of Indiana University. She plays with the Philadelphia Orchestra, and has served as principal viola with the Curtis Symphony Orchestra, and the New York String Orchestra. As principal viola of the Curtis Chamber Orchestra 20/21, she played with Jennifer Koh and Jaime Laredo in their project Two x Four, and also for the creation of their album for the Grammy nominated label Cedille. A recipient of a Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award, Ms. Martin-Doïke has performed for Radio France and, in the United States, for National Public Radio and American Public Media. She is also the recipient of the Chamber Music Award at the American Conservatory of Fontainebleau, and two scholarships from the Williamson Foundation for Music. Recently graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music, Mrs Martin-Doïké is currently in her first year of master at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris in the class of Pierre-Henri Xuereb. She’s a Harriet Hale Woolley Scholar.
Thibaut Reznicek was born into a family of musicians, passionate about literature. He studied for one year in class 252preparatory at the Lycée Louis-Le-Grand in Paris then continued a Bachelor of Classics at the Sorbonne. During the 2012-2013 season, he presided over the Musica-Louis-Le-Grand association, in charge of animating musical life at the Lycée Louis-Le-Grand. After returning in 2013 to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in the class of Michel Strauss and Guillaume Paoletti, Thibaut is currently in his first year of master in the class of Marc Coppey and Pauline Bartissol. He has studied chamber music with Itamar Golan, Claire Désert, Mickael Hentz and Ami Flammer and attended the master classes of Gustav Rivinius and Gary Hoffman. He has participated in the Allegro Vivo festivals in Horn (Austria), the chamber music festival in Cervo (Italy), the musical meetings at Mont-Dore (Auvergne), as well as the Berlioz festival with the group Les Siècles conducted by François Xavier Roth. Thibaut is also interested in the historical approach of the instrument that he studied with Bruno Cocset at the Conservatoire. He has just been selected to participate in the 2015 session of the Orchestre Français des Jeunes Baroques under the direction of Leonardo Garcia Alarcon. Since 2007, he has collaborated with the composer Henri Nafilyan, whose concerto for cello and orchestra he has dedicated. Thibaut plays a cello by François Lecavellé and a bow by Robert Pierce.
Choha Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea. She began learning the violin at the age of six and made her debut with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. She then played with the St. Petersburg Symphony in Russia and appeared on Kumho Prodiges and the Saturday Concert at the National Museum of Korea as a scholarship winner of the Korean Ministry of Culture. An avid chamber musician, Choha has been an artist in residence at the Banff Centre and has been invited to the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival and “Yale in New York” programs at Carnegie Hall with students and alumni of her university. She has also played as concertmaster in the Schleswig-Holstein Academy Orchestra, the Yale Philharmonic and the Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra. Choha received a Bachelor of Music degree from the Curtis Institute of Music where she studied with Joseph Silverstien, Samuel Ashkenasi and Victor Danchenko. She then obtained a Master of Music at Yale University, after winning the Broadus Erle Prize. She is now studying at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, in the class of Olivier Charlier.
