Sticky fish with sticky dreams, a wide winged bird, two chatty chimeras,
leave your weapons for pearls.
–
Wanderer, hazard thyself and step in our dwelling. Let your ears be filled by those creatures’ whispering: if thou art attentive to the babble of crocodile and doe, busy with mushroom picking, thou shalt discover how a definition differs from a description, thou shalt be amazed by labyrinths and mazes, and find yourself pretty happily lost. If still thou persists in thy quest, thou shalt happen on the dreams a fish in love with a shapeshifting doll, a dog with a man’s head talking to a dog-headed man, doggos waiting for Godot.
About the Artists
Maximilien Gremaud was born in France in 1994. After graduating from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Versailles, he decided to study philosophy and art history at the Ecole du Louvre, before doing an Arts and Language Masters in the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS). Apart from his academic cursus, he has kept up a steady practice of drawing, painting and sculpture. In 2013, his work was exhibited in the Salon d’Automne. He is currently working on a short movie, a dialogue between two puppets in which a doe and a crocodile argue about mushrooms, linguistics and philosophy, blurring the worlds of image and thought.
Born in 1997, Timothee Lambert began his artistic studies in thepreparatory class of ENSBA Lyon, before starting at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs. After photography and stage design, he went back to his childhood obsession: drawings, stories, and lettering. His current works are taken and composed from diaries, impulsive ideas, in order to become comfortable with them and to crate intimacy with the reader.
